What we learn from those we coach

As a full-time executive coach, one of the many rewards I receive is to share the insight, perspective, and wisdom of my clients.
Together we co-create a safe space, a place like no other, where the role-playing which characterizes our day-to-day activity is suspended and replaced by intimate, supportive, frank, and occasionally challenging dialogue, which drives awareness, stimulates action, and ensures that a more optimum version of the client arises.
However, it is not just the client who benefits.
A coach’s learning journey is constant: I learn about myself, and the ever-changing business environs within which we work. In the words of Vernon Howard, “Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will.”
As a coach, I simply get a lot more places to wander.
