The Essence of Team Leadership

In team coaching we often start by coaching the leader, giving them the support and insights required for the journey ahead.
Many leaders are clear on the team that they want to create but often get in their own way by misinterpreting what leadership truly is.
In its simplest terms, it is setting up the team with clarity of purpose, putting adequate resources in place, ensuring access to other stakeholders, being available, and saying thank you!
The leader who micromanages, staying in the day-to-day, may believe they are providing support but in fact, they are denying an opportunity for growth, both for themselves and those around them.
