Successful Leadership Is Human-Centered

The type of leadership that underpins sustainable organizations in today’s volatile environment is one that is human-centered.

This was a key finding in the study I was honored to co-author with 19 other fellows at the Institute of Coaching, McLean/Harvard Medical School

The study revealed that the five fundamentals of the NEW leadership are:

1. Expand consciousness
2. Cultivate relationships
3. Support well-being
4. Integrate diversity
5. Build agile cultures

Companies that applied this style already before the pandemic were able to adapt more quickly and fared better last year.

As we return to the office, we must build upon this approach and create a results-oriented culture where people are fully plugged in because they want to be there and contribute.

What we are seeing is that for employees it’s no longer about money, it’s all about freedom and participating in a culture where they feel they can bring their whole selves to work.
