In individual coaching historical experiences of the client are often reviewed as a means to identify the underlying rationale for current, ingrained patterns of behaviour.

The journey is one of creating awareness, before transforming behaviours that no longer serve us well.

In team coaching, this awareness is created through open feedback.

To achieve this, it's important that team members feel free, to be honest about themselves and their colleagues.

The level of openness and honesty in the team is referred to as "psychological safety”, the measurement of which is a strong indicator of the effectiveness of a team’s interaction.

In simple terms, this is your willingness to speak openly about what is going well and what is not within the team and the wider organisation, freely and without fear of retribution.

It is not a license to be disrespectful or hurtful about our teammates, like all freedoms it should not be abused.

In our experience, psychological safety is the single most important ingredient to determine a positive outcome in team coaching.
